Such is the case with Robar Enterprises. Bob Barkoff, company president, learned the packaging business from his grandfather, father and uncle. His grandfather began in the carton business in San Francisco in 1928. Bob joined the family business in February1970 and remained there until April 1996. Bob and his wife, Robi, a partner in Robar Enterprises, began the new venture in Foster City, California. Bob and Robi moved the business to Scottsdale, Arizona in 1998.
Robar has an extensive distributor network and welcomes any inquiries from potential partners who are interested in extending and maximizing their product lines. The company also has attracted and services a sizeable number of direct customers that fall outside of their distributors’ territories.
Aside from superior service, Robar’s strength has been their ability to build a highly sophisticated network of offshore printers in Hong Kong, mainland China and South Korea. These manufacturers have given Robar Enterprises the competitive edge in the pricing and quality arena. In addition, the company has a tremendous knowledge of domestic suppliers allowing it to draw from both U.S. and international sources for more complex projects. |
